Basset Hound

Just completed this acrylic portrait of a Basset Hound on a bold pink background to reflect the personality and character of this fun loving breed 🤓

All Change…

Following a change of mind with one of my paintings, I recently took the plunge to swap a safe sky blue colour for a bold purple (my favourite!) colour.  I think it makes the subject – a hunk of English Bull Terrier – ‘pop’ forward now.  I love subtle, gentle background colours, but just now and again I like to go a bit bananas!  See what you think. 🤓

Untitled…

This is similar to a previous painting of mine, but I love the composition (and the model!) so decided to paint her again from a slightly different angle and a reverse/mirror image.  I haven’t come up with a title yet…suggestions would be very welcome.

Another Biggie…

‘Isla’ 60x60cm £195

Following the sale of my big canvas (well, big for me anyway) ‘Stag In Water’, I thought I’d see if another biggie would be of interest to someone.  This ‘heilan coo’ is acrylic on a 60x60cm canvas and was great fun to paint in all her shagginess!

“Isla” will be ‘hoofing it’ down to my display wall at the Garrion Bridges in the next day or two.

Twitter Art Exhibition

Just about to pop this mini version of a black Highland Cow painting I did last year, into the post to New York, to take part in the Twitter Art Exhibition.  All entries have to be a postcard size and it was good fun to scale this one down…mini-moo!

The Eyes Have It

With apologies to the UK parliamentary system but sometimes phrases can be twisted slightly to suit a subject.  Certainly the model for this portrait, Tigger, says it all with his eyes.  This was a recent commission to be given as a Christmas gift.  Acrylic on canvas.

Another Mungo

This is the second ‘Mungo’ commission I have painted this year, the other being a feline variety.  He is a Jolly, ie. a Jack Russell & Collie cross and is very sweet, as is Mungo the ginger Tom, although I’m not sure how sweet they would be facing each other!
