Commissioning A Portrait

I use your photographs to produce my portraits so they need to be good, sharp images especially around the eyes on a head shot, as this is where the character in my paintings comes from.  I would suggest sending 2 or 3 head shots in different poses and if a full body portrait is required, then a few more of your pet standing, sitting, even sleeping – including your preferred shot for the painting.  You can email the images to me, together with your instructions for the pose you would like me to paint and the colour background required.  If you’re not sure, I am very happy to discuss the options.

For acrylic portraits, I use top quality art materials which produce vibrant paintings with a good depth of colour and the canvas will be sent to you ready for hanging on your wall.  I can of course send the painting without fitted hanging loops and picture cord if you are intending to have the painting framed yourself.

Pastel ‘paintings’ on Pastelmat (thick pastel card) are sent securely packaged so that they won’t smudge and are ready for you to take to your local framer for framing under glass (recommended).

Pastel paintings normally take about 2-3 weeks, acrylic paintings up to a month and oil paintings about 3-4 months (due to the drying time for oils).

A 25% deposit is required to secure your commission and the balance is paid once you are completely happy with images of the finished portrait.

If you have any questions, please get in touch using the ‘Contact Me’ page.

I look forward to hearing from you.
